The thing I am most thankful for every day is healthy children. I had relatively easy pregnancies, textbook deliveries, and took home thriving babies within 48 hours of their birth. We have struggled a bit with health issues in both boys, but nothing that couldn’t be handled with a little time, patience and TLC.
When I think about all the babies and children out there who have to fight for their lives, it crushes me. In my world, kids should have nothing bigger to worry about than which toy to take to bed with them. Unfortunately, that’s not reality for too many children and for this reason I am honored to help in anyway I can with St. Jude’s Thanks and Giving campaign this weekend.
Thanks and Giving is a holiday campaign when shoppers, celebrities and national corporate partners unite to help St. Jude fight childhood cancer. Beginning Tuesday, November 22 and running over Black Friday and through Cyber Monday, November 28, 2011, my friends at Ruckus Media Group will donate to St. Jude 100% of the net proceeds of their entire digital library for iOS. That’s $1.39 for each $1.99 app you purchase straight to St. Jude’s. I love it.
I’ve written before about our addiction to RMG’s Spot the Dot app, so if you don’t have it yet, I’d for sure recommend you pick it up. If you didn’t already read my gushing review of this app (and see the accompanying cute kid photo), check that out here.
We’re also big fans of the Chuck & Friends interactive storybook. We have a million little Chucks around the house so this one was a no brainer for us.
And for those of you with girls, RMG released their My Little Pony interactive storybook this fall. And by the way, it’s kind of a hit with my boys, too.
So if you’re in the market for new apps this holiday season, please think about picking up one or two of these. You might just save a life.
