New Year, No Excuses {Week 2}

NEW YEAR NO EXCUSES CHALLENGE

You know how on The Biggest Loser Week 2 is always a killer? The same holds true for the New Year, No Excuses Challenge. While there was definitely some weight lost this week, the numbers definitely paled in comparison to last week.

But that’s okay.

52 women weighed in this week and lost
an overall total of 36.9 pounds.

The total weight loss percentage
for the group {after two weeks} is 1.79%.

Those, my friends, are some awesome numbers considering the dreaded Week 2 curse. I’m so excited that the group has done so well and look forward to big losses again next week.

As far as my PERSONAL weight loss, I’m feeling pretty positive. Despite being less than perfect with my eating over the weekend {death in the family, Luke’s birthday party, blahblahblah}, I managed to lose 1.4 pounds and get back under 200. Yay!

Here’s the down side. I think it’s time for me to kick it up a notch and add some actual exercise into my plan. Did I say that last week? I can’t even remember. Maybe I said no exercise until after the 21 Day Sugar Detox? If that’s what I said, then disregard because my detox went out the window.

The plan for this week is to add in 3 days of strength training {probably a workout video after the boys go to bed} and to attempt to meet my 10,000 step goal every day. I’m not a big fan of exercise, but I think I can commit to those two things at the very least.

What are you doing this week to meet your health and fitness goals?

  1. Good job!!!!!!! I wish my scale would be less than 200 anything.

  2. I’ll commit if you will! ;) I’m hanging within a 5-lb. range plateau, and I’m pretty sure I need to start getting into a routine of hitting the gym, or doing a dvd at home, or moving my hips to the hoop.

    This past two weeks has been spent adjusting to going back to school. We have 6 classes, in addition to regular school, per week…definitely keeping ourselves busy! I’ve been looking at the gym’s class schedule to see if I can fit a class in somewhere, but it looks like I may just have to hit the elliptical or the pool, and try to do a class once the rest of our schedule lightens up a bit.

    We could do a daily step challenge, if you want! Although, I should probably get a pedometer first! ;)

  3. Congrats on breaking through 200!

    Your sugar detox inspired me to try to cut out sugar. Two days in and so far so good. Although I can easily see replacing sugar with cheese, which isn’t the best alternative. Good luck on Week 3!

  4. Congratulations on getting below 200! I would have done the happy dance and probably broken the scale. You are doing great!
