Nothing makes me happier than surprising the boys so when the opportunity to take them to see Yo Gabba Gabba! Live! Get the Sillies Out! presented itself, I obviously said yes even though it meant voluntarily taking two small boys on a mini, Friday afternoon road trip.
And now for the confession portion of this post. I have never seen an episode of Yo Gabba Gabba!. Not one. My kids totally know about this show and are into it so they must watch it at daycare but I honestly have no idea. Go ahead and file that under “ways I suck as a mom”.
Anyway, Friday afternoon we’ll all be piling into the van and heading up to Santa Barbara so we can catch the early show at The Arlington Theater which just so happens to be one favorite places EVER to see a concert. The last time I was there was for a Violent Femmes show – do you suppose this will be anything like that? Maybe not, but I’ll let you know.
I’m thinking the boys may need some fun beanies for this experiences I’m off to Google Yo Gabba Gabba! characters for some inspiration. In the mean time, if you have any tips for seeing shows like this with preschoolers, leave them in the comments. We’re complete rookies when it comes to this kind of thing.
Disclosure: I received tickets to the Yo Gabba Gabba! Live! Get the Sillies Out! show in exchange for writing this post. All opinions are my own.
Yo Gabba Gabba! LIVE!: Get the Sillies Out! marks the third tour for the successful Yo Gabba Gabba! LIVE! concert series. The sillies are crazy little creatures that live inside of us and need to be shaken out! DJ Lance Rock and everyone’s favorite cast of colorful characters are calling all fans to get ready to jump, shake and shimmy them out.
Yo Gabba Gabba! LIVE!: Get The Sillies Out! tour will visit more than 50 cities across the U.S. in 2013. Yo Gabba Gabba! I was worried my littlest would melt down before that second show ended.
The first few times I watched this show it was stimulus overload. Couldn’t do it. Loathed it. Now, it’s much better. I guess I’m desensitized. Good luck and god speed.
