My answer to everyone who asks what I plan to do without coffee for 30 days is, “I’m going to drink tea.”
It seems like an insane plan, I know, but it’s necessary. My reliance on coffee is completely out of control lately. Like, 5 big cups a day out of control. No one needs that much coffee and no amount of “coffee is healthy” evidence can convince me that they do.
But here’s the thing. I’m not willing to give up caffeine just yet. I started a new round of the 21 Day Sugar Detox on Monday and giving up coffee AND sugar all in one week is just too much, you know? I cannot even IMAGINE the detox symptoms.
I decided after some thought that the only logical thing was to start a 30 day drink tea challenge. The challenge serves a dual purpose – replacing coffee + an excuse for me to explore the world of tea. Asking on my Facebook page about what kind of tea people drink yielded tons of ideas – many of which are totally new to me.
So, all of that said, this week I jump on the 30 day challenge bandwagon with my friend Anna. I will drink tea – cold, hot, otherwise – in place of coffee and see how that feels at the end of the month. Who knows, maybe coffee and I will part ways forever after this. I mean, it’s doubtful but you know . . . could happen.
